FARMERS and growers from throughout the Peel region converged on the western foreshore on Sunday to market their seasonal fresh produce.
The inaugural Peel Farmers Market in Mandurah was officially opened by Mayor Paddi Creevey and will be held every Sunday.
Organiser Nicole Carter said there were 25 stallholders at the market, providing a range of produce such as summer fruits, organic meat, bread, nuts and condiments.
Ms Carter said the Peel Farmers Market in Pinjarra celebrated its first anniversary this month.
The Pinjarra market will be held once a month from January.
Ms Carter said supporting local markets was important to promote sustainability, good health and regional employment.
