Greed has priority

I SAT thinking about lots of issues regarding pollution, such as old cars on the road and carbon emissions, dredging beaches and leaving exposed toxins, the constant spraying of chemicals in parks.

In addition, known carcinogenic substances are still used in foods.

Most of all, where does the Government stand in all this?

Why is this allowed to happen?

Yes, greed takes priority over peoples’ lives.

Dennis, the writer of the article offered some contemplative thoughts and questions. For you to qualify the person in terms of their undisclosed form and content is both contentious and arrogant.

In terms of welfare 'recipients' you seem to have a bee in your bonnet about the unemployed and under-employed. Logically your arguments lack logic. How can the government provide everything to someone in need of welfare? Obviously they are being granted a rudimentary payment for purposes of subsistence because they do not have everything - and the government provides only basics. Let us stick to reality.

In terms of 'brain-washing' you are the one trying to sell us the notion that those on welfare 'have everything provided for' - people on welfare are poor, and most poverty is economically induced.

In terms of the 'green wave' well you need to expand, as there are information and cultural waves unfolding facts and arguments. The world is not a perfect place. Gerry Georgatos

I'm amazed that you did not think of the more important things like food, water and what you need like a house or some accommodation.
Obviously welfare recipients don't need to bother about answering those questions because the Government supplies their needs and obviously can say that we 'capitalists' are greedy because we work!
This green crusade can only end up with Communism and dictatorship. Already we have seen that 'scientists' are using deception to enforce their alarmism on us. Hey if you are worried about pollution (you emit carbon-though it is NATURAL!!!) you may consider going to Mars or removing yourself from this planet. I think you are totally brainwashed and need to find something in life to give you happiness because it sounds to me you are a depressed person!

It happens as a result of Government and its agencies. They allow it to happen. We do not have credible experts as politicians, and certainly our politicians are not those who regard their role in parliament as a 'calling' rather as personal exposure and gain.

They allow it, they make it happen, they legislate it. Then they hide.

With alarm and disbelief I read about planned massive waste of ratepayer’s money to be spent to please few. I am referring here to the coastal walk aluminium bridge story reported recently in the Community.
It is already very bad to spend over $25,000 on consultant’s work which anyone with Photoshop software could do. That could have bought two vehicles for city rangers to patrol community.
Now these “knowledgeable experts” suggest to spend half a million dollars to make few objectors happy.
May I suggest leaving the bridge as it is and instead buy few spades and some trees for the objectors who can than plant these at designated spots around the bridge. I am pretty sure that soon the bridge will disappear in shrubbery and will be out of sight.
Since the city obviously has money to burn what about spending the half a million on elderly and needy. That will make many more people in the community happy.
